主讲简介：James Huan，江苏大学流体中心/美国OptiMax Dynamic, LLC金山特聘教授。研究专长：喷水推进。After receiving his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University, New York, with a concentration study in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and fluid dynamic body shape optimization using adjoint formulation in optimal control theory, Dr. James C. Huan taught shortly for a year in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the same university before starting his professional career in the industry of marine engineering. With more than 20-yrs experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), dynamic system modeling and simulation with Matlab/Simulink, dynamic system optimization with adjoint formulation in optimal control theory , and deep-domain knowledge in numerical methods (FEM and FVM), Dr. James C. Huan have been long serving as a technology lead and advisor at the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding (currently Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding) and the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to solve critical problems in ship and submarine design for U.S. Navy customers in the areas of ship/submarine resistance performance, ship/submarine 6-DoF motions and stability, fluid and structure interaction in ship survivability and seakeeping, ship/submarine propulsor design and powering system performance. In particular, he contributed to the solutions to various hydrodynamic problems in the design of CVN 76, CVN 77, NSSN, ASDS, DDG1000, T-Craft, HSSL and U.S. Coast Guard deep water cutters. Starting 2015, his interests moved into commercial ships by working with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as the technological manager of its CFD group. Currently, he is fully engaged in the development of a revolutionary marine propulsor based on his patent invention with his startup company, OptiMax Dynamic, LLC. In addition to authoring numerous internal R&D research reports for companies and clients, he published and presented more than 10 papers in international well-known journals and conferences.
